How Total Road Network Length is Calculated

Region-Based and Flow-Links OD

Road network length FRC 0-5 within a convex hull that encloses the user-defined regions + 10 km external region (where applicable)

Example:

You can add up to 4 date ranges in a single study. For example, if you want to run separate reports for weekends, weekdays, and two seasons for an area with a 4,000 km road network, the total distance would be:

4,000 km

i.e., the multiplier of 4 does not apply in an OD study as opposed to a Traffic Stat study.

Selected Link/Region OD

For Selected Link analysis, the kilometers (or miles) are calculated as:

Road network length at functional road classes 0-5 (major roads) within the first 10 km defined radius of analysis area + Road network length at functional road classes 0-2 (highways) for the remaining defined radius (between 10 and 50 km) by user.

Example

If a user wants to present OD Selected Link analysis data for 10 links in two directions, with each link including trips within a 10 km radius and containing 50 km of road network at FRC 0–5, the total kilometers would be:

2 × 10 × 50 = 1,000 km

How iNode Credit Usage is Calculated

iNode uses a credit-based system to track distance-based usage.

• 1 iNode credit = 1 mile (1.61 km).
• For example:
  • 2,000 miles = 2,000 credits
  • 2,000 kilometers ≈ 1,242 credits

The platform converts distance to credits automatically, so users always know the cost in advance.
